The Onion's Back
I've thought recently that The Onion has gone downhill. Well, they've won me back with this week's issue. Particularly the editorials headlined "If It's Any Consolation, Your Daughter Probably Died Almost Immediately of Sheer Terror" (though the editorial isn't as good as the headline) and "This Script Practically Writes, Directs, and Universally Pans Itself." And the "What Do You Think" is about the House bill on stem cell research, and features the following responses:
|
- "If Bush vetoes this bill, I'm going to veto him! With a bumper sticker, of course."
- "The Democrats want stem-cell research so they can cure multiple sclerosis. The GOP wants it so they can grow an army of zombies. So Bush is in a tough spot politically."
- "They're not stems, they're babies! And they're not cells, they're babies! And it's not research, it's babies!"
