April Fool's

In recognition of April Fool's Day, here's a couple of links that have listings of classic April Fool's pranks.

First, the museum of hoaxes has a top 100 list of their favorite hoaxes. Second wikipedia has a short list of classic hoaxes as part of their article on April Fool's.

My favorite hoax was put on by a radio station in Raleigh back in 98. When I woke up in the morning, the station had brought on a guest posing as an official from Raleigh's water treatment facilities. He announced that due to some necessary maintenance, hot water would be cut off to Raleigh for the day at 10:00 AM. Lots of people called in (was around 7:00 AM) rather flustered that Raleigh would do such a thing and deny late risers their chance to shower.

Of course this hoax would probably fool even more people in Wythe county where there are two adjacent water tanks viewable from the interstate. One is labeled "Hot," the other is labeled "Cold."
